Where to Start on Run It Once as a Theoretical Beginner?
Hello everyone,
I have just subscribed to Run It Once and I would like to ask for some specific recommendations on where to start studying on the platform.
I have been playing poker for several years, mainly in games with friends. I am very comfortable with hand ranges, rules, and basic game dynamics, and I read a couple of very introductory poker books a few years ago. However, I do not have a structured background in modern poker theory.
After watching a few videos on the platform, I noticed a recurring issue: many of them assume prior familiarity with advanced concepts (terminology, models, GTO-based reasoning, etc.). As someone new to this type of structured study, it is easy to get lost and frustrated without building a clear logical foundation.
For that reason, I would greatly appreciate recommendations for:
Specific series or videos to build a solid foundation from the ground up.
Content that focuses on explaining the reasoning behind decisions, not just optimal lines.
Coaches or courses that are particularly suitable for someone with practical experience but limited theoretical depth.
My initial goal is to properly understand the fundamentals and develop a coherent mental framework before moving on to more advanced material.
Thank you very much in advance for any guidance or personal experiences you are willing to share.
Best regards.
