Great first session. Took a minute to get all of our tables and sites set up and working together but overall it felt very nice. Got in 50 MTTs and managed to avoid feeling completely swamped with tables, anything over 12 and my game drops off a cliff.

This was an interesting hand. I have been running fairly bad recently and its definitely led to me subconsciously feeling like 'they always have it nobody can fold' mentality which is really dangerous, especially in MTTs. So I have been forcing myself to really verbalise a plan for the hand and make sure that I follow through.
I had a good plan going through the hand. The flop we have great connectivity with the J, 3 and backdoor diamonds + we are going to get lots of better hands to fold. On the turn, once the diamonds come in alongside our future straight blockers I think we have a mandatory triple. My plan on the turn was all rivers had to be shoved apart from a board pairing 4 which I thought might lead to a situation where villain is just going to end up calling most of there range.
Apart from the flop being fairly close, most of the hand is solver approved. My thoughts on the 4 pairing river are not solver approved, but if you look at the types of hands that SB has to fold on this card I think it might quite quickly become a value only street. I am open to thoughts on this river though as it may be my recent bias talking?

Good afternoon,
Been a full time MTT'er for a while. Had a good end to last year and made about $50k. This year I started with a downswing, which I worked quite hard to get out of. As soon as I got out of it and got into green for the year, I just hit a massive slump, lost all motivation. I let my routines slip and generally just took my foot off the pedal.
That brings us to the blog. I am going to drop stakes a bit, focus on $11-$55 and I am going to play on Stars, Ipoker and ACR. Focus on good structure regular speed MTTs. The most important part of this blog is my routine that I am going to stick to religiously, until it becomees completely second nature and I can do it in my sleep.
Routine;
- Go to computer at 15:30 and set my alarms for the session, sort all software so I am ready to start
- Drill for 1 hour, focus on single spots rather than full hands.
- Meditate for 5 mins before starting session
- Play full schedule, with full focus and mark lots of hands.
- Post session review marked hands
This is a really good routine. Everytime I have implemented this long term I have been very succesful and improved quickly. I would like to update this thread after every session and post some hands that I have played and review.
Thanks a lot for reading!

Enjoying the discussion. If you are travelling around on your own I highly recommend Couchsurfing meet-ups! I travelled around quite a lot and went to loads of these in different countries and always met loads of great people (also some very strange people). The Budapest one was in a tiny bar that was opened just for this occasion last time I went!

GL mate will be following! Just started a thread here and applied to Nachos as well :)
Onto session number two. Took a while to get here and we had to miss a sunday, which was a shame.
We have everything set up now, so the grind feels a lot more comfortable. Still need to add a few tournaments, especially in the earlier hours where I can be lacking tables. We are managing to play 40-50 tournaments a session though, which is pretty good. I definitely felt the urge to skip a proper warm up and not go through the hands in the end. We managed however to go through all of our processes and ended up playing a pretty focused session. I do always tend to feel this resistance and lack of focus in the first session back after 2/3 full days off so its even more important I stick to it.

This was an interesting hand to review here. Its also one I am struggling to come up with an answer too.
This is a ft2 ICM spot and the solver doesn't want to play any jams here at all. I assumed this would be the case but thought in game that the EV of shoving or 3b/c JJ would be basically identical, but it turned out to be a fairly significant mistake. We can shove QQ for negligable EV loss but not JJ. It has villain 4b shoving quite wide range with some lower pairs in there, which makes it a fist pump 3b/c but if villain doesn't 4 bet shove these which I think deep in a tournament in tight positions he definiitely might not, then this hand becomes really shit. Still not entirely sure what we should have done with this hand.
