Hey fellow grinders,

Glad to share piece of my journey:

The Framework I'm Taking to the Tables
Run It Once journal — 35 days remaining
Over the next 35 days I won't be posting graphs. Instead I'll be posting this: the emotionally difficult things I manage to observe about myself as a student — from the inside, in real time.

This is the mental framework I'm committing to. Not as motivation, not as theory — as a working discipline. I'm writing it down because naming it publicly is the first act of accountability.

The framework — five operative principles
I
Replace judgment with observation
Stoicism
The ego burns emotional energy through adjectives — disastrous session, unfair run, impossible situation. The disciplined mind runs on verbs and facts.

Ego judges itself ("I'm a fish") and produces zero action. The observing mind reads the data ("3 big leaks in this session") and produces an immediate operational response.

The adjective doesn't belong to the spot — it belongs to the one looking at it. Remove it and the hand empties of its power to tilt you.¹
II
Becoming nobody — amorphism
Identity
Every crystallised identity — I am a winner, I am a grinder, I am a high-stakes player — becomes a prison to defend. Ontological disconnection means: you are not your bankroll, you are not your results, you are not your graph.

If your stack drops, your skill remains intact. The money is just centimetres on a ruler. Stay silent about your wins for a week — the ego starves without external validation.

The player who needs to prove something at the table has already lost the most important edge.
III
The service mantra — shifting the centre
Purpose
Shift attention from what do I get? to what does the game require of me right now? There is no room for ego when the objective is genuine execution.

The pain test: ask yourself whether what's suffering is the real person or the image you hold of yourself. If it's the image, let it die — and smile.

Gambling was never about the money. It was ego refusing to serve the process and demanding a shortcut instead.
IV
Antifragility — be the fire
Taleb
Don't seek robustness — resisting without changing. Seek antifragility — improving because of the shocks. Wind extinguishes the candle. Wind feeds the fire.

Absorbing a drawdown without emotional distortion is the supreme proof that the ego is not steering the trajectory.

Variance isn't the enemy. The story you tell about variance is.
V
Discipline as an ontological act
Identity
Keeping your own rules in the silence of your own room is not a tactic. It is ontological resistance — the declaration that you are not a slave to your own inner chaos.

The single result is statistics. Execution is the only music that counts.

Over the next 35 days: no gambling, no tilt, no videos mid-session. Not as rules — as signals that I've stopped playing the game and started playing the story.
35 days. No graphs posted. Every observation about myself — the fear, the retreating, the moments I catch the ego doing its work — written here instead.

The spoon was never hard. I just didn't know yet that I was fluid.

¹ Note — The Chinese Farmer (on the ambiguity of events)
A Taoist parable about the ego's demand for immediate verdicts, versus reality's refusal to give them.

A farmer's horse runs away into the mountains.
— Perhaps.
The horse returns with seven wild horses.
— Perhaps.
His son breaks his leg trying to tame one.
— Perhaps.
War comes; the son is not conscripted because of the broken leg.
— Perhaps.
You never have enough information to know whether today's event is your ruin or your fortune tomorrow. Suspending the verdict lets you act on facts without being paralysed by emotional narrative — and at the poker table, it is the difference between reading a bad beat as data and reading it as a disaster.

I post my results from the beginning of the year and this will be my first and last graph posted due to "ego" reasons.
