Such a bizarre hand haha. Given such bad blocker property/playability w this combo do you think it's better to just raise flop and be done with it when get called and turn is a low card?

I actually don't understand why you tank 1min here haha. I feel since you defended this combo OTF, it's a snap OTR esp given his turn b25 + Jarret is a very competent reg. Just way too many bluffing combos here and we don't even need to think about blockers. AQ should be pretty high up in range right?

Doesn't like his play from my POV tbh, like you said turn sizing is not optimal.

I do checked the sim and b33 seems alright -- but AQ follows up on river with a pretty high freq. I think by b33 AQ turn alone is not good at all, as it doesn't achieve much by itself, so a river followup is kind of mandatory otherwise checking turn will probably be better? Curious on your take!

Shouldn't a K turn here results in OOP's range bet? It's such a great turn for OOP, what's your strategy here?

You said people are trappy when they double checking here. Really? On a board that is okay for range bet and they check two-street - I feel it's somewhat weak/showdown driven.

Also about turn sizing - do you think explo wise doing big sizing one-and-done will be better esp w/o BDFD blocker? As b25 can't really fold out his A high and on spade river we won't bluff this combo.

Wow such a vintage footage, so many legendary names in this one, thanks for the time machine!

So the commentary is from back in the day or now?

A few 3b pre spots you played in game (65s MPvEP, KJo COvEP) def makes me realize that I'm playing a tad too tight pre by missing some of these very marginals spots. I will typically use "high rake" as an excuse to skip those - but eventually picking up those IP spots does earn marginal EV for us when choosing the correct villain. I think it's a good reminder :)

you talked about MDA wise floating here generally make a tad of $$.
However if you look closer - IP is using b40, I believe vs generic b33/b25 the float will make more sense, do you still think vs b40 this will generate enough wr to justify the call in the long run (esp you said villain is a decent aggro reg)

Sick result btw :P

Cool talk regarding the cbetting strategy on the J62r.

Trying to clarify - by what you mean, are you playing pure explo here when choosing sizing - aka when b25 you are not gonna include hands like A7/K8/33 type even when it seems like a range bet, in the meanwhile you play b75 for other hand categories?

Nice explanation on why checking 77 is bad in a non-GTO sense.

However, when IP has so many potential busted draw combos + flop xx - it's really easy to convince myself that "it's better to check here since he has so many bluffs" in a short timeframe.

But I guess one very important factor to think about is the BU's flatting range, if like you said earlier that people are not adjusting enough in these ante environment where they play too tight, their range it's going to be more air as they are not flatting those KTo/KJo enough while those JTs/T9s/A7s are probably denser in the flatting range.

Also - do you think it's better to check QQ/KK here?

you said block-block is viable - this hand wise it def makes sense. Range wise actually what sort of value/bluff range will you play block-block line here? Seems a bit weird to me esp vs UTG.

when you mentioned that villain's K8/A8 will have less equity vs us then you decided that our hand is a good candidate to bet. I'm a bit confused haha - shouldn't having an eight ourselves block all the K8/A8 combo of villains?

You mentioned that 77 here is a standard call. With this smaller 3b sizing + ante I believe it's profitable call.

However when rake gets higher, do you think explo wise we can (and we should) start folding some 77 here? As you mentioned earlier in the vid too that people do love to call pp a lot in 3bp OOP, just trying to avoid to be too pp-dense postflop without position in a 3bp.

And on a side note - when vs rec or fish I guess we should fold more? -- in a sense that they typically do not like to give up in a 3bp so our equity become even worse (when they xback less/triple bluff more).

Nice reference to other polar spots. However - just curious regarding the 3b range both 3B should be substantially narrower than this BVB-iso range, so I'm guess when cbetting, this limp-iso spot do gets to cbet more vs the 3bp esp on high card texture?

Pretty valid reasoning regarding the frequency. Since this is kind of an uncommon spot (mw + paired turn), even when we don't have the 5c, I guess explo wise we can do this every time (or that's say in an anon pool)?

Haha funny, I was thinking since you're go greedy why aren't you just do b100 then you said

"Don't go pot"

How so? Do you think these type of players are more sensitive to bigger sizing OTR/A high board? Thank you!

Nice to see even a veteran like you will sit out to think for specific spot. And nice check - when watching, my first instinct is just b-b-b as it's 4bp as PFR, but you are right, if he's a good reg then AK is going in anyway, by checking we get extra 45/67 value and we double block his KQs xback too.

What do you think of his river sizing tho? I feel it's fully explo that he puts you on KK and trying to milk the last street.

Sept. 28, 2026 | 6:04 p.m.

Curious on what's going thru your mind in this 20s thinking if you should re-raise here, def not a common spot per se -- so would be nice to know how you frame your thinking here :)

Yeah I could relate w what you said the eureka moment, sometimes I will be too obsessed with playing a "good stats" too and it actually does more harm to me, still tricky to find the right balance but I'm def more cautious about it right now.

You said quick call doesn't give us much info - I was just thinking - if he tank-calls this spot - does his range change much, esp on A high boards vs 1bb bet.

Feels the info was not that clear on both cases, tanks could still be 1) XR that didn't end up doing, or 2) marginal continuing hands. Tanking is def somewhat more polar than snap call but don't think it helps that much? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Sept. 28, 2026 | 6:02 p.m.

08:20
You mentioned that villain snapped call turn - so that probably very Ax dense, so explo wise, you will ALWAYS give up the bluffs OTR right?

Sept. 28, 2026 | 5:59 p.m.

06:26 Baller xjam, never have it in my arsenal. I wouldn't assign him turn set w b50 too.

If turn goes xx again and river bricks out, I assume it's mandatory bluff river? What would be the sizing you use?

Sept. 28, 2026 | 5:58 p.m.

05:01 Such a sick raise - couldn't find it here myself. Mostly because of sizing I assume?

Sept. 28, 2026 | 5:58 p.m.

Well played!
Just curious if river is a brick facing a check, do you just painfully give up? Seems to me that vs his line if we bet we do get caught a lot!

Sept. 28, 2026 | 5:57 p.m.

02:58
You talked about high-rake 4betting/4b shove to avoid rake. I haven't watch that vid (will watch it soon!) - sorry if this is already covered - but considering GG rake pre (anything >= 3b will be raked), will that still be applicable?

Sept. 28, 2026 | 5:57 p.m.

01:08
Is b25 probe your default strats vs snap-check?
I noticed the snap check back when watching and my first instinct is to b66 range - I do feel that it's quite QQ/JJ/Tx/99 dense from that range so that we need to apply two streets of pressure w somewhat bigger sizing.

Curious on your thought process a lot!
