Hey Matt, big fan here,
How do you manage the idea of 'life balance'? I’am aware that to become truly great at something, you need to be unbalanced for a while.
But how long should that 'short period' of unbalance last before it starts doing more harm than good?
I feel like everytimes i tried 'too hard' i always endup burning out...
Poker feels more like a marathon than a sprint. Do you think maintaining a more balanced lifestyle actually lowers your poker EV?
Do you focus on keeping the minimum 'life balance' a poker pro should have? what does it looks like? 8 hours of sleep, seeing friends once a week, sport two time a week? something like that?
Thank you

Hey, first of all, thank you. I find myself in a similar situation. It seems to me that blogging hasn’t evolved much, and I feel it could be a lot better with it—simple things like having a view count for each post, the ability to edit old posts and keep discussing the same topic over time (while somehow notifying your audience about updates), emails when new posts etc etc.
In my case, I don’t particularly enjoy listening to my own voice, and I consider myself more structured when writing than speaking. I recently thought about using Twitter for blogging...might give it a shot, blogging is a very useful tool for setting (or resetting, or retaking) a sense of direction—like a compass in life.
I hope to find you in a new format that fits you better!
Thankyou for doing this,
1) Why you give so much importance at 'playing well preflop' when EV loss is generally very minimal... many hands have similar EVs between call/3bet etc...
2) In later nodes , specially Rivers, would you focus exploiting only EV mistakes or mixing mistakes is also important?
3) Feelings playing Linus HUNLHE back then? would you bet he become the crusher he become later on?
thanks
