hey man,
thank you for your honesty, its just enjoyable to read your thoughts. Especially about the doomswitch. When i committed myself to a certain amount of bankroll before i plan to go pro on poker, I was fired up and extremely motivated. ultimately i had to stop doing that because it affected me in a way that I was chasing for the outcome of being a pro and more invested into that goal instead of my routine or play.
I wish you a happy time and gl.
oh, i am still not a pro, but i didnt thought about it until now, haha.

hey man, happy to see you back. I remember you were excited when the new course from FreeNacho about MDA came out. Is that still a deal for you? I am curious whether it could be a next level step for you. I havent tried it though. Or maybe you have already worked on that course and just didnt tell :)

Thank you Ben. Pity I missed the date and fortunately I cant think of any questions. Just want to thank you for sharing your view on poker and how you experienced it with us. Your answers put some things for me in perspective.

Kayhan Mokri vs Monarch Part 1
Kayhan Mokri vs Monarch Part 2
I was enjoying the content so much. Especially shoutout to the Poker Pro Commentators Randy 'nanonoko' Lew and Kevin Rabichow (Rio Coach). It is so wholesome for me to watch you guys comment on the matches. Much love!

Instead of looking through the lens of- do they like me?
You should be looking through the lens of- do I like them?
I am ashamed to admit it… it is an eye opener for me.

It helps me to play lower stakes, where I find a different pace and worry less about outcome

Very inspiring… to leave one’s comfortable zone and have the heart to follow the intuition.

Hi Doug,
just want to let you know that blogging about your self employment gave me some idea of handling a business. When I was asked about a business idea with self employment, I could give back some feedback and questions such as "who are your customers and how do you intend to aquire them?" or "What value do you want to create for your customer?".
To me, your practical example is more tangible than lectures about business. Thanks

I gotta admit that I am not a fan of your approach, because I somehow get a headache from reading your blog, so I skipped parts of it.
But I do respect your climb and your energy to reach where you want to go. What a story, from NL5 to NL500, in one year, hardly beatable.
I also admit that I envy you being able to play NL1000. Hard work pays off and I am happy for you.

I would be leaving to find a better job where employees are more
valued, at a smaller company.
I can second that. There is definately a different kind of motivation to work therewhen the staff is as valued as the customers. Though I see it also in companies in different sizes.

Hi Jeff,
I like the concept of accumulated tilt.
Started losing at one poker room, after it changed to another. And
losing was continuous, not just a few big pots. Actually my main room
I was losing for a couple days already and that accumulated overtime -
coinflips, missplays and mistakes, coolers and so on. So fed up with
that! Can’t put myself anywhere.
Would exercise or breaks help to let out some steam?

Hey Doug,
I can relate to the wish to play poker as some side event to the job. So I'd like to follow your journal.
Without poker, I feel like I don't really have a strong "why" that
pushes me to do these things...
But I can autopilot my way through my software career for the most
part.
This resonated with me especially.
Wish you GL

I accidentally woke up at 4.30 am this morning. I cant recommend it unless having a stable 7-8 hour sleep. I would rather wake up at 5.30 or 6.30 with a more rested mind and body.

I rememember two weddings that I visited and enjoyed. There are moments that happend by random during the wedding day that I just remember because my heart was at peace and I want to cry when I think of them now.
What I cant remember is what I have done on the job last week or on the poker sessions I have played. Those memories are just blank right now. I suppose it is because I am not connecting emotionally.

Hi, it’s the same here. I can verify that since a week there are shown super close spots in utg rfi and it seems that the obvious ones are excluded. it so much harder to streak now.
Edit: I just found out that if you set your settings in “practice” to normal, streaks is also affected and much much easier. Hope it helps you
Edit2: ok not correct what I said. I am really not sure what the mechanism behind vision are.
yeah, i am in the same boat here, such a discomfort to upgrade to Win11, especially when someone like me doesnt want to. I am just procastinating. But its comforting to know that I am not alone on this one.
