Post | tesla79 posted in PLO: GTO hh analyzer

Hello!

Is there a program where I can load my PLO5 hands and analyze what I didn't play according to GTO, where I'm losing the highest EV? If I'm not mistaken, the 2 big solvers can't do this. But it's better to ask.

"It's probably also a good idea to turn of run it multiple times to avoid raked split pots."

That’s exactly why I don’t understand why you agreed to run it twice at 26:25 on table 3. What was the reasoning there? TY

Wow, what an honor. Thank you.
Congratulations to the others.
Well, I'm off to watch Alien Slayer's PLO5 videos - sorry if I'm less active now.

Hi!
Congrats — really impressive results!
If I understand correctly, you’re working a full-time job and still finding the time to play poker on the side, which is amazing — especially with kids.

I don’t want to comment on the hands — it’s simply not my level, and lately I’ve mostly been playing PLO5 anyway.
There’s also a great video on this topic here:
https://www.runitonce.com/poker-training/videos/volodymyr-sabanin-donk-betting-on-a-straightening-turn-hand-review/
I think it might be better to post the hands one by one, or maybe even directly on Discord. Traffic here has been pretty low recently.

Great work, and I wish you continued success!

Hello Volodymyr! Really great video. I really enjoy this GTO/HH format. Mixing in some donk bets is absolutely a good idea — I hate when people do it against me. :-D
And it really does matter to choose the right spots for it. Thanks! Take care!

Hi! I would definitely look for the solution in studying and mental coaching. With just an Essential membership you can already get started really well.
And what’s also important: I would play stakes that fit my bankroll, so bad runs don’t hurt.
I hope this helps, but I’m happy to go into more detail if there’s anything you’re curious about.
All the best!

Thanks, Barátom! xD I’m following your thread as well.
Yeah, I’ve been playing piano for a long time, though I’ve always treated it more like a strong hobby.
Cool that you play drums — maybe one day we can start a poker band. :-D

Hi Robin! Thanks, it was a great video. I love this topic, and I feel that in the micro/small-stakes population the fold frequency to stabs is much higher than in solverland. What do you think? Have you ever filtered for this?

Nov. 28, 2025 | 10:35 p.m.

It was worth reading. Thank you, Ben. One more confirmation that it’s worth doing what you enjoy — and not doing what you don’t.

In music I’m actually very much at home, and it’s strange to see that two of my very talented friends barely make music at all, simply because they don’t feel like it. Meanwhile, I see so many people who are very successful in music (in all kinds of genres) whom I personally consider pretty average. Yet they’re successful because they keep going for decades.

Anyway, all the best, Ben!

It really is a good exercise. I’ll use it. I was thinking of doing it in the evenings. Is it a big problem if I sometimes fall asleep? xD

Did I make any mistakes?

Nov. 28, 2025 | 1:12 p.m.

Great video on range-vs-range thinking. Even as a PLO5 player I can definitely use it — and honestly, it’s valuable no matter which format you play. It’s fascinating how the thought process has to be both nuanced and simplified at the same time — a real paradox. Thank you so much!

Comment | tesla79 commented on Embracing Learning

I think you really captured the essence. In ?almost? everything, finding enjoyment is the priority — and for me, that’s true both in studying and playing poker.
What I find amazing about learning poker is how many different ways there are to improve. My real struggle is that I throw everything at myself at once. I definitely need to spend more time on repetition.

Have a great Formula 1 weekend! By the way, who are you rooting for?

Nov. 27, 2025 | 2:29 p.m.

Thank you so much for the recommendations! I’ll definitely check these out. Really appreciate your guidance — it helps a lot.

"I personally feel he does a lot for the PLO community…."
No doubt about that. We should also keep in mind, though, that he’s a good businessman. :-)

I’m not too worried — I already have my six-month study plan, and his company isn’t really part of it. I think Emty’s PLO5 FTGU is simply a better choice for me as a micro/small-stakes player. And I believe the RIO Elite PLO4/5 coaches generally play at a higher level than he does. I’d even say the current videos and recent PLO Championship results support that.

Interestingly, in one of his recent videos he reviewed who played well in the PLO Championship — and he didn’t put himself in the top ten.

But overall, he’s a good guy and I like him. And this post wasn’t really arguing against that anyway. Peace. :-)

Nov. 27, 2025 | 12:38 p.m.

Dear Chris,
I really appreciate your thoughts and your recommendation. As soon as I can get an Elite membership, I’ll start watching your videos.

Nov. 27, 2025 | 8:02 a.m.

I’m not sure if this has been asked before — I couldn’t find it.
So, I’d love to watch a video that talks roughly 50/50 about learning theory and practical implementation. Recently I’ve been reading about Anki cards, but I honestly can’t imagine how I’m supposed to ‘map’ my poker PPTs onto them, or how the app would even know whether I’ve already learned the content.
Thanks!

No long ago I read about some poker bots, and I kind of freaked out. I told myself, ‘okay, at least they’re not in the room I play.’
Then I searched for GG bots — and that’s when the real shock hit.
The best headline I saw was: ‘24 Best Poker Bot Services To Buy Online’. WTF? Is the situation really that bad?

So yeah, I got a bit desperate. Then I talked to ChatGPT, and it painted a much less gloomy picture. Especially since I’m playing PLO5 right now — apparently it’s much harder to develop a strong bot for that. Which actually makes sense, and maybe that’s why it’s good that new formats appear every now and then. Another argument for not sticking to just one game type.

How do you guys see it? What do you think about bots and the future of online poker?

Nov. 26, 2025 | 9:31 p.m.

Yes, a lot. I'll start reading one of them. Thank you very much.

Nov. 26, 2025 | 9:12 p.m.

No problem, mate!
You can be sure a RIO coach gives better advice than I do. :-D

Hello Frankie!

Thanks for the video — it was fantastic.
I’ve found so much information online about interleaving learning that I don’t even know where to start. Could you give me a hint on where to begin?

Nov. 26, 2025 | 2:09 p.m.

Thank you!

And what do you think about it:
Is it worth sizing the raise a little below the pot in this case, or is it more effective to just press the pot button? I understand from a psychological point of view.

Nov. 26, 2025 | 12:25 p.m.

The turn check/call line keeps you more flexibility and avoids committing early to a potentially marginal river spot. :-)
I'm sorry, but I think this is the right answer.
I wouldn’t consider the call a mistake here. It’s worth noting that this player only does this with a nut hand.

Nov. 26, 2025 | 11:52 a.m.

Hello Guys,

Don’t you think that the best first step would be to learn the FTGU NLHE course religiously? I honestly can’t imagine that you couldn’t beat NL50 with it. Wouldn’t it make more sense to bring in the GTO approach after that?

Really hoping things turn around for you — especially that things settle down in your personal life. Wishing you all the best.

"Ignition Bot Strategy call"

That sounds absolutely terrible. :-(
To be honest, I haven’t really looked into poker bots before — but I just did some reading now, and it seems like it’s an open secret that they exist on Ignition. And now I’m seeing you can even buy them for GG? WTF?!

Why aren’t these sites catching them?
This is honestly really discouraging.

Have you managed to come up with anything to counter the bots?
Is it actually possible to beat them?

Happy thanksgiving for You!

“What about the 3-way aspect?”

That’s actually one of the main reasons. The preflop aggressor’s c-bet range is naturally stronger in multiway pots, and the CO is also going to overcall the flop with a relatively strong range.

Another thing is that if the turn goes check-check, that’s totally fine for you—you don’t really have any showdown value on the turn anyway, so there’s nothing you need to protect.

But if the turn turns into a bigger raise/reraise spot, that puts you in an even more annoying situation, because you’re not realistically able to call that.

Those are my thoughts — hope they help.

Nov. 26, 2025 | 8 a.m.

It’s a bit concerning. In any case, it’s definitely worth thinking carefully about who you choose to learn from. And for sure, if I were to really dive into his material, I’d first take a good look at whether his results are actually legit.

Comment | tesla79 commented on River Decision Making

Thank you! This is a very professional way of thinking about decision making. Useful thoughts about blockers. I think it’s recommended for everyone, but for NLHE players it’s absolutely essential.

"If you don't know what you are doing is better to just open Pot."

:-) Ok, I'll do that. Thank you.
